Michael Ray Padgett, age 48, entered the gates of heaven on Sunday, June 24. Mike was born on November 7, 1969 to Judy and Lonnie Padgett in Waco, Texas. He had been battling colon cancer for 4.5 years.
Mike attended Moody ISD from 1st-12th grade. After graduating, he began working for Wilsonart in Temple, TX, where he later retired due to his illness.
Mike had a gift of love for his family and friends. He was a genuine, giving, selfless person, who always put others first. Mikes hobbies included fishing, fishing, and more fishing. But when deer season came around, he did a little bit of that too. He had a very creative mind, and with that he was always building and creating a new masterpiece.
Mike was a beloved son, an awesome dad, and a great husband. He will truly be missed by so many.
He was proceeded in death by his grandparents Harold and Robbie Bushing, and Lonnie and Margaret Padgett.
Mike is survived by his parents Lonnie and Judy Padgett, wife Kristi Padgett, his one and only son who he loved so dear, Michael Ray Padgett Jr., a brother Gene Padgett, Niece Reghan and husband Koby Chrisner and their two kids, son Landon (best fishing buddy ever) and daughter Savannah Grace, Nephew Tyler Padgett, cousins Bill Bushing and Zina Vaughn, and a lifetime of loving friends and friends that are like family.
Mike will have a celebration of his life with a memorial service located at First Baptist Church Temple, 8015 W. Adams Ave, Temple, TX, 76502 on Friday, June 29 @ 2:00 PM.
