Funeral service for Wilma Hickman, 79, of Temple will be 1 PM Monday January 4, 2020 at Dossman Funeral home in Belton.
Burial will follow at Copperas Cove city cemetery.
Visitation will be 5 PM to 7 PM Sunday January 3, 2020 at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton.
Wilma died December 25, 2020 at a Temple hospital. She was born March 11, 1941 to Arthur Lee and Mamie Alita (Manning) Townsend. She married Clifford Hickman on January 10, 1957 in Copperas Cove, Texas, he preceded her in death in 1985. Wilma was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Belton and Temple. She was very involved in the church including being the office secretary. She was a Girl Scouts troop leader, and ran day camp in Copperas Cove and Camp Kachina. She was a member of the band booster club at Copperas Cove High School and worked the concession stand at the games. She was involved in the food pantry in Nolanville. Wilma was a homemaker, amazing cook, baker and seamstress making many dresses. She was a very caring person, putting the needs of others before her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Hickman; daughter, Debra Elaine Hickman and a grandson, Jason Trammell.
Survivors include two daughters, Deborah Trammell and husband, William of Temple and Teresa Silva and husband, Ricky of Waco; two brothers, Luther Lee Townsend and wife Doris and Larry Townsend and wife, Laverne; a sister, Bertha Ann Murdoch; five grandchildren, Christopher Trammell, Amy Silva, Pamela Bartram, Robert Silva and Matthew Silva and seven great-grandchildren, Bella Bartram, Ryan Silva, Hayley Burke, Zane Bartram, Mikie Burke, Reagan Silva and Lainey Burke.
