Wanda June Hicks

Service for Wanda June Hicks, 85, of Belton will be 10 AM Saturday, July 17, 2021, at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton with H.K. Ballard officiating. Burial will follow at Moody Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday, July 16, 2021, from 5 PM to 7 PM at Dossman Funeral Home.

Wanda died July 12, 2021, at a local hospital. She was born March 29, 1936, to Ruby and Hebert Sligh in Bellmead, Texas. She married John D. Hicks on August 15, 1951. Wanda was a housewife and raised three children. She loved to sew and quilt with her friends. She also sold Avon and baby sat with numerous children.

She is preceded in death by a son, Jerry Don Hicks.

Wanda is survived by her husband John D. Hicks; a daughter, LaQuita Hicks Whit and husband William, Jr.; a son, Jimmy Dan Hicks; three grandchildren, Jessica Collins and husband Craig, Jon Hicks and wife Michele and Jason Hicks and wife Diana and, five great grandchildren, Tyler, Jaedyn, Kaeley, Addison, and Brandon.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to the Diabetes Foundation of The Heart Association.
