Virginia Lee Shope
October 8, 1931 — July 23, 2019
Funeral services for Virginia Lee (Jones) Shope, 87, of Belton, will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 27, 2019, at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sam Callaway officiating. Burial will follow at the Greathouse Cemetery in Temple.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Friday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Shope died Tuesday, July 23, 2019, at her home.
Mrs. Shope was born October 8, 1931 in Heidenheimer, the daughter of Perrie Vernon Jones and Oma Lee (Bell) Jones. She married Forest "Toy" Shope October 26, 1946 in Belton. She worked in Food Service for Belton ISD for 20 years. She retired in 1998 as a Supervisor.
She was a Past Noble Grans for the Killeen Rebekah Lodge #232. Also she was a charter member of TSFSA Belton Chapter, charter president. She was a charter member and loyal active member of Anchor of Hope Fellowship in Belton.
Mrs. Shope was preceded in death by her husband in 2011, son Raymond Shope, parents, sister brother and one granddaughter Amy Henderson.
Survivors include son Forest Lee Shope of Moffat, daughters Doris Shope Miller of Temple and Debbie Shope Roberts of Belton, nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Scott and White Hospice.
