Virginia Reyna Kean

Virginia (Reyna) Kean, 68, of Belton passed away on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at a Temple nursing home.

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, October 29, 2018 at 10:00 AM Christ the King Catholic church in Belton with Father Joseph Nisari officiating. Burial will follow at North Belton Cemetery in Belton.

Virginia was born on May 4, 1950 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Alvino Jr. and Ofelia (Rodriguez) Reyna. She grew up in Corpus Christi and graduated from West Oso High School. She attended Austin Community College and worked as a designer for an advertisement company as well as being a full time homemaker. She was awarded Volunteer of the Year twice, once for her work at a rehabilitation facility in Austin and once from the state of Florida for her work with the Eagles Clubs of Florida. Mrs. Kean married William Kean on July 18, 1970 in Corpus Christi and they were married for 48 years before she passed away. Virginia attended Christ the King Catholic church in Belton.

Mrs Kean was preceded in death by her parents, sister Solia Reyna-Jackson, mother-in-law Jane K. Kean, and brother-in-law AJDS Schmidt. She is survived by her husband William of Belton, daughters Carolina M. McCrary and her husband Billy Ray II of Temple, and Tanya Kean Layther and her husband Mark of Houston, and son Charles W. Kean and his wife Jennifer of West Point, NY. Also surviving are grandchildren Billy Ray McCrary III, Cody T. McCrary, Kallie Kean, Zachary W. Kean, Bennett K. Kean, Emilia Layther, and Hugh Layther.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 28, 2018 from 5-7 PM at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton and a rosary will be recited starting at 7:00 PM by Deacon Oscar.
