Vincent Grillo, 86, of Belton, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at a Temple hospital. The family will be having private services at a later date. Dossman Funeral Home is helping with arrangements.
Mr. Grillo was born on July 14, 1938, in Port Arthur, TX., to parents Frank and Virginia Grillo.
He married the love of his life, Nelda James, in May of 1959. They spent 65 wonderful years together, having three boys who he loved dearly. Vincent worked at Texaco for 42 years as a pipefitter. They lived in Nederland, Texas for 17 years where he volunteered as a fireman and as the Assistant Civil Defense Director. They later moved to Lumberton Texas, where they lived for 22 years before retiring. In 2000, Mr. Grillo and his wife moved to Belton, TX. where they have lived for the past 23 years. After retiring, he enjoyed gardening, fishing, working on his lawn, and repairing anything that he could; but his true passion was spending time with his family. He loved to have a good time and making people laugh, something that he passed on to his sons.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Virginia Grillo and his brother Louis Grillo.
He is survived by his wife, Nelda Grillo, three sons, Dr. Larry Grillo and wife Katie, Glen Grillo and wife Tiffani and Darrol Grillo and wife Gwen; ten grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren, his sister Mary Francis Ramirez, his brother-in-law Bill Sather and wife Geraldene, and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to Baylor Scott and White Hospice.
