Victoria Villanueva, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and the heart of our family, has peacefully passed away. While her departure leaves a profound emptiness, the love and memories she leaves behind will continue to bring us joy and comfort for years to come.
Born and raised in Cerros Blancos, Nuevo León, Mexico, Victoria was the youngest daughter of Vidala Reyna and Leonardo Hernandez. In 1966, she married Florentino Villanueva, the love of her life, and together they shared an incredible 60 years of marriage—creating a love story that served as a foundation of strength and unity for their family.
Victoria’s life was a shining example of love, courage, joy, hospitality, and unyielding perseverance. She spent her early years in Mexico, where she devoted herself to raising six children. In 1980, she made the bold decision to join Florentino in Mount Pleasant, Texas, where they welcomed three more children into their family. Her bravery in leaving Mexico with five young children is a testament to her boundless courage and resilience. Despite having little, she and Florentino worked tirelessly to provide abundantly for their eight children, ensuring that each one felt cherished, supported, and loved. In 1985, they moved to Belton, a place she would come to call home.
Victoria’s love for her family was evident in every aspect of her life. No task or sacrifice was too great for her if it meant doing what was best for her children. Even in moments of discipline, her affection and care shone brightly. She treasured every moment with her family, creating a lifetime of memories filled with laughter, music, and dancing. Family gatherings were always vibrant and full of life, and Victoria was undoubtedly the heart and soul of every celebration. She welcomed friends and strangers alike into her home, generously sharing her blessings and spreading warmth wherever she went.
Victoria fought bravely against cancer, demonstrating the same unwavering strength and perseverance that had defined her life. Throughout her illness, her spirit remained indomitable, and she continued to inspire all who knew her with her fierce determination and boundless love.
Victoria’s legacy is one of kindness, laughter, and an everlasting love for her family and friends. While we will deeply miss her presence, her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known her.
She is survived by her husband, Florentino Villanueva; eight children, Roberto Villanueva, Ricardo Villanueva, Gustavo Villanueva, Florentino Villanueva, Jr., Miriam Perez, Rebecca Hernandez, James Villanueva, and Lorena Rivera; her sister, Margarita; 15 grandchildren: Ricardo Villanueva Jr., Mark Anthony Villanueva, Zachary Villanueva, Amy Samantha Villanueva , Roberto Villanueva Jr., Roxana Castaneda, Viridiana Torres, Yoana Mendez and Mario Tapia, Jocelyn Villanueva Jones, Cristian Gustavo Villanueva, Lyla Olivia Perez, Marisol Hernadez, Alexander Hernandez, Alexia Villanueva, Sara Yasmin Villanueva, Braylon Levi Villanueva Miller, Lilia Victoria Rivera, and Jenni Yatzil Rivera; 4 great grandchildren: Aspen James Villanueva, Vivian Claire Villanueva, Willow Selena Villanueva, and one on the way.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Sylvia Villanueva; son, Antonio Villanueva; ten siblings, Feliciano Hernandez, Silvano Hernandez, Juan Hernandez, Aurelio Hernandez, Salomon Hernandez, Juana Hernandez, Sara, Guadalupe, Felipa, and Victoria; and two grandchildren.
