Trent Warren Gregory, of Belton Texas died unexpectedly on January 13, 2023. He was born on August 9, 1961, in Jacksboro, Texas to parents Carroll and Sylvia Gregory.

Trent graduated from Austin Anderson High School in 1979.He received his bachelor’s in education at Southwest Texas State University in 1985. There he played on the 1982 NCAA Division II National Football Championship team.

Trent married his best friend Juliana Roberts on July 13, 1985. That same year he began his teaching and coaching career in Leander ISD. There they welcomed their first child, Madison. In 1992, the family moved to Bartlett, Texas where Trent coached under Terry Cron. Together they led the Bartlett Bulldogs to the Class 1A State Football Championship. It was there that Trent and Juliana welcomed son Garrison.

In 1995, Trent returned to his former high school alma mater, Austin Anderson as the Offensive Coordinator. One year later he became the Head Football Coach/Athletic Coordinator. During his leadership tenure the team achieved the school’s first District Championship title. He was named 2003 26-4A “Coach of the Year” and for six years Anderson High School was the recipient of the Austin ISD “All Sports Award”. In 2007 Trent coached at Timberview High School in Mansfield, Texas.

Trent was hired at Vandegrift in 2009 to coach the offensive line. There he had the privilege to coach his son in both football and baseball. He then moved on to be the Head Football Coach for Killeen Ellison High School from 2013 to 2018. In 2018 he decided to retire from education where he made a huge impact on the students, parents, and his fellow colleagues.

Trent is preceded in death by his father Carroll, mother Sylvia, and grandson Ewan Knox O’Bryan.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Juliana; son Garrison, daughter Madison and husband Daniel O’Bryan, grandchildren Lillian and Cormick O’Bryan; brother Jeff and wife Kathy Gregory; nieces Casey Enriquez and Gayla Gregory.

Services for Trent will be on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 2:00 pm located in Belton, Texas, at Dossman Funeral Home.
