Thelma Lee Fisher

Graveside services for Thelma Smith Fisher, 92, will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, August 26, 2024, at North Belton Cemetery with Sparky O'Neal officiating.   Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 PM Sunday, August 25, 2024, at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton.

Mrs. Fisher died peacefully at her home in Austin on Wednesday, August 21, 2024.

Mrs. Fisher was born January 21, 1932, in Temple, the daughter of J. L. Smith and Mattie (Jackson) Smith.  She had a long career in nursing, working mostly in home health care.    She enjoyed cooking, embroidery, gardening and reading her Bible.  She found ways to do kind things for others.  Her personality filled the room wherever she went.

Mrs. Fisher was preceded in death by her husband, James Fisher; by her son, Weldon Allen Hale, Sr; and by her great-granddaughter, Skylar Tobin.

Survivors include her daughter, Kathy Cox and husband Gary of Austin; brother Bobby Smith; three sisters, Dorothy Harper, Nelda Lewis, and Ima Faber; five grandchildren, Tammy Mercer and husband Paul, Weldon Allen Hale, Jr. and wife Theresa, Nathan Hale and wife Lynsie, Courtney Armold and husband Timothy, Markus Hale and wife Robin; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
