Shirley Chitwood

Shirley Joyce (Artz) Chitwood, 80, of Belton passed away on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Baylor-Scott and White Hospital in Temple.

Funeral services for Shirley will be held on Friday, October 22, 2021 at 10:00 AM at AGAPE Christian Center in Belton with Dr. John Pelizzari officiating. Burial will follow at North Belton Cemetery in Belton.

Shirley was born on July 1, 1941 in Bristol, Colorado to Norman and Virginia (Westover) Artz. She graduated High School in Bentonville, Arkansas and later from Fayetteville Business College. Mrs. Chitwood married Jerry Chitwood on June 10, 1960 in Rogers, Arkansas. Shirley was a member of AGAPE Christian Center in Belton and she was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband Jerry of Belton; sons Donnie Chitwood and his wife Marsha of Morgan's Point Resort, Texas and Michael Chitwood and his wife Robbi of Edmond, Oklahoma; 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 6-8 PM at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton.
