Ruth Drake, age 94 of Belton Texas passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Saturday December 2, 2023, to reunite with the many faithful loved ones who have gone before her, including her husband of 51 years.

Ruth was born on June 25,1929 in Belton Texas to Melvin & Elizebeth McInis. She married C.J. Drake on September 21st, 1946 and they raised 8 children together. Ruth was a member of Faith Temple Lighthouse Church in Temple, she loved going to church, when she was able, she was there every time the church doors were open. Nothing made her happier than when her children, grandchildren or just the neighborhood kids would join her to church services. Ruth loved sharing the Lord with any and everyone she met, she loved and served the Lord with her whole heart. Ruth worked at Crestview Manor Nursing Center as a physical therapy aid until she retired. “Nannie” as most of us call her often showed her love through feeding you. Breakfast at Nannies was such a treat for her family on the weekends, but her table was always open to whomever happened to it. She enjoyed watching her grandkids in their sports and attended as many of the games as possible, she also loved to travel.

Ruth is preceded in death by her husband C.J Drake, parents Melvin and Elizebeth McInis, three brothers Dee McInis, Delbert McInis, and Lewis McInis, three sisters Florence Peacock, Ella McInis and Jane McInis, three sons J.L. Drake, Galen Drake, Charles Drake, two daughters Paulette Hitt, Charlotte Cehand, two grandchildren Kimberly Tanner and Lee Drake, and one great grandchild Brittney Cehand.

She is survived by three sons Anthony Drake and wife Sharon of Belton, Lawrence Drake and wife Linda of Belton and David Drake and Kelli of Valley Mills, 29 grandchildren, 74 great-grandchildren and 44 great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Drake, Paul Drake, Shayne Drake, Randy Hitt, Charles Cehand, Matt Drake, Shaun Drake and Colton Drake.

A visitation for Ruth will be held Friday December 8th from 6-8pm at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton.

Funeral service will be Monday December 11, 2023, at 10:30am at Dossman. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery Belton, Texas.
