Ronald Judson Smith, Sr.

Ronald Judson Smith, Sr., 83, of Temple, passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2023, at his residence.

He was born on November 1, 1939, to Charles J. Smith and Gladys Martha Sanders in Urich, MO.

Mr. Smith was better known as Popeye, because of the long pipe that he always had hanging out of his mouth. He lived a quiet life, spending his working years in lawn maintenance. On his off time, he enjoyed helping people in his area farm their land.

He is survived by one son, Butch Smith; one daughter, Ronda Johnson; and one sister, Alice Smith.

He is preceded in death by one son, Bill Smith; 2 brothers, Coach Smith, and Charles Smith, both of Salado; and 3 sisters.
