Roderick M. Cox (“Rod”) passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2023. Rod was born September 18, 1946 in Alexandria, Louisiana to Roy and Rita Cox.
Rod proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps and was a decorated Vietnam War veteran. He married Cynthia Kojis August 21, 1971 in Bunkie, Louisiana and went on to raise three children in Orange, Texas, where he worked for E. I. DuPont de Nemours & Company as a licensed professional engineer.
Retiring after 30 years with DuPont, Rod and Cynthia moved to Belton to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Rod loved working in his shop making wooden crafts for his grandchildren and restoring antique outboard motors and vintage tractors.
Rod was preceded in death by his wife Cynthia in 2014 and son Christopher in 2009. Rod is survived by son Joshua Cox and wife Tami of Fort Worth and daughter Erin and husband Doug McCormick of Kyle, as well as eight grandchildren.
