Funeral services for Robert “Punk” Wilson, 84, of Belton, will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, November 17, 2018 at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Johnson and Rev. Justin Childers officiating. Burial will follow at North Belton Cemetery.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Friday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Wilson died Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at the William Courtney Veterans Home in Temple.
Mr. Wilson was born July 10, 1934 at Summer’s Mill, the son of William C. and Willie C. (Zachary) Wilson. He was a graduate of Holland High School where he earned the honor of top athlete, an honor he still holds today. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving, in the United States Army. He married Pat (Alexander) Jones October 26, 2002 in Belton. He worked for Bell County for many years with different agencies within the county including, Aging Services, Adult Probation and the Road and Bridge Department.
Mr. Wilson was a bareback rider and is a member of the Bell County Cowboy Hall of Fame. He was a 60 year member of the Masons. He was a member of Miller Heights Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife Pat Wilson of Belton, two step sons David Hoye Jones and Bobby Carl Jones; five grandchildren including two very special granddaughters Cresta Smith and her husband Adam and Tara Clifton and her husband Tyler and two great grandchildren. Also one niece Margaret Wilson and four nephews John Wilson, Jeff Wilson, Larry Wilson and Bobby Wilson.
