Robert Lee Brooks

Graveside services for Robert Lee Brooks, 67 of Cranfills Gap, will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at Herrington Cemetery under the direction of Dossman Funeral Home with Michael “Tater” Paschal officiating.  Visitation for family and friends will be held Tuesday, August 10, 2021 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton.

Robert Lee passed away on August 6, 2021 in Waco, Texas.  He was born on April 9, 1954 in Belton, the son of Lee and Virginia Brooks.  He married Janet Elaine Herrington on April 30, 1976 in Nolanville, Texas.  Robert Lee and Elaine have four children. He spent most of his time working on ranches in the Central Texas area before eventually going into law enforcement.  However, his true passions were church, family, and anything that involved breaking horses and ranch work.  He was a member and actively involved in Bosque County Cowboy Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents Lee and Virginia.  Survivors include his wife Elaine Brooks; two daughters, Mandy Boyd and husband Chris, Candi Brooks and Ross; two sons, Lonnie Brooks and wife Katharine and Ben Brooks and wife Ashton; one brother Roger Brooks and wife Bonnie and one sister Jan Wright; six grandchildren, Celdan Crews (Celdom), Kouper Tubbs, Cadin Brooks, TJ Brooks, Riley Brooks, and Ryan Brooks; and numerous extended family members.
