Richard (Dick) Collins

Richard was born in Lawn, Tx on November 23, 1936 to Vernon Bisby Collins and Ora Irene (Sluder) Collins.  He went to school through the 8th grade and from there went to work helping his father support their family.  He married Faye Hitt of Gatesville in 1957.  They had three daughters.  He spent much of his adult life in Temple as a Route Salesman for Pepsi Cola, Bordens Milk and Frito Lay.  After retiring in 2011 he spent his time doing odd jobs and loving his family.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 49 years; a daughter, Pamela; his parents and four siblings.

Mr. Collins is survived by his daughters, Patti Pustka and husband Paul of Temple and Melissa McCartney and husband Joe of Harker Heights; six grandchildren, Melanie Anderson and her husband John of China Spring, Pamela Fails and her husband Michael of Richmond, Dustin Pustka and his wife Virginia of Pflugerville, Corbett McMillan and his wife Megan of Temple, Collin McMillan and Mason McCartney of Harker Heights; eight great-grandchildren, Sarah and Maddie Anderson, Josiah, Brooklyn and Noah Fails, Samara and Abigail Pustka and Tynlee McMillan; two sisters, Barbara Wiggins and Wanda Shelton both of Gatesville along with a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 5 PM to 7 PM Thursday, May 20, 2021 at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton, Texas.
