Richard William Cottrell

Mr. Cottrell died Thursday, March 21, 2019, in a Temple hospital.

Mr. Cottrell was born October 6, 1943, in Pontiac, Illinois, the son of Paul William Cottrell and Laberta June (Turner) Cottrell.   He married Bette Fortna, July 5, 1964, in Pontiac, Illinois.  He joined the United States Air Force after high school graduation and immediately left for France.  He served in the Air Force for more than 20 years and retired in 1987.  After the military he went to work for Lockheed Martin.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Bette Cottrell, January 12, 2019.

Survivors include two sons Jeffrey Cottrell and wife Sabina of Belton, and Gregory Cottrell of Ft. Worth; one brother James Cottrell and wife Terry of Colorado; six grandchildren, Matthew Cottrell, Joshua Cottrell, Riley Cottrell, Avery Cottrell, Amanda Gibson and Shelly Austin; and two great grandchildren, Stella Austin and Luke Gibson.
