Funeral services for Priscilla Ann Farr, 83, of Belton, will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Dossman Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at North Belton Cemetery.
The family will receive friends for visitation 5:00 - 7:00 PM Friday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Farr died Tuesday evening January 16, 2024, in a Clifton Nursing Home.
Mrs. Farr was born April 17, 1940, in Meridian, the daughter of James and Vera Opal (Josey) Cook. She grew up in Meridian where she met and married her husband, Richard Farr. They moved around for many years, as he built bridges, before making their home in Belton with their daughter Shelli. Priscilla sold Avon around the neighborhood. She also worked for Belton ISD substitute teaching and later working in the migrant program and as an aide in the Jr. High. She retired in 2006 after 23 years of service.
She loved gardening. She was a member of the Horticulture Club, the Red Hat Society and loved to go dancing.
She was queen of garage sales, goodwilling and thrift store shopping.
She had many friends and never met a stranger. She was spunky and had a great sense of humor.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and daughter. Also, her sisters Jamie Coppin, Linda Cook, Glendene Price; brothers, Jack Smith, Floyd Smith and Burt Cook.
Survivors include her nieces and nephews that loved her dearly and considered her their matriarch and mother, or bonus kids as she called us, DeDe Remington, Kimberly Griffith and husband David, Kelly Jackson, T. J. Neystel, Brent Remington and wife Molli, Tori Bodnar and husband Tim, Keisha Hilderbrand and husband Michael, Keith Hilderbrand and wife Bailee, a daughter-in-law Sharon Abernathy and and many great-nieces and nephews that called her Grandma Cill.
