Pedro Salazar Ramirez, Sr.

(Pete) Pedro Salazar Ramirez, Sr., 80, of Belton passed away on Monday, February 3, 2020 at Baylor-Scott and White in Temple.

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at 9:00 AM at Christ The King Catholic Church in Belton with Father Joseph officiating. Burial will follow at North Belton Cemetery in Belton.

Pedro was born near Taylor, Texas on January 18, 1940 to Luz and Natividad (Salazar) Ramirez. He was raised in the San Gabriel community where he attended schools. He worked as a welder for American Desk, Griggs Equipment, and Wilsonart until he retired in 2004. He then worked for Indeco Sales in Temple until 2010. Pedro married Elisa (Alice) Juarez on April 18, 1959 in Rockdale, Texas. He moved to Belton in 1960 and was a longtime member of Christ The King Catholic Church in Belton.

He was preceded in death by brothers Celestino and Louis Ramirez, and sisters Sandy Bodiford and Mary Soto.

Mr. Ramirez is survived by his wife Elisa (Alice) of Belton, sons Pete Ramirez and his wife Jennifer of Belton, and Justin Ramirez of Belton, daughters Mary Jane Zaragoza and her husband Heriberto of Belton, Betty Lou Ramirez of Belton, and Gracie Hebert and her husband James of Azle, Texas. Also surviving are brothers Manuel, Thomas, and Casper Ramirez, sisters Lionor Riojas, and Gregoria Medina, 9 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Monday evening from 5:30 - 7:00 PM at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton, with a rosary beginning at 7:00 PM with Deacon Oscar Valeriano officiating.
