Funeral services for Paul H. Sanderford, 62, of Belton, will be held at 10:00 AM, at First Baptist Church in Belton with Pastor Andy Davis officiating. A private graveside service will follow at North Belton Cemetery.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 6:00-7:30 PM Friday, October 18, at the Dossman Funeral Home in Belton.
Paul Sanderford died Saturday, October 12, 2024, after courageously battling his second fight with cancer.
Paul was born, October 1, 1962, in Killeen, and was the beloved youngest son of R. D. and June Sanderford.
Paul married Kelly Lambeth on October 9, 1993 in Richland Hills. He was a devoted husband and also a proud and adoring father to his three kids, Tanner, Ty, and Emlee.
He was a man of great faith and a dedicated member of First Baptist Church Belton, where he grew up and then later returned to raise his family as an adult. He served as a deacon, a Sunday school teacher, and countless other volunteer positions. He was an active civil servant in the Belton community, serving on the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Board, the Belton School Board and the Belton City Council. His intellect and love of learning is well reflected in his undergraduate and doctorate of jurisprudence from Baylor University, plus the vast library of books he read and collected. Paul Sanderford was a talented and hard-working attorney and successfully ran his own law firm Sanderford & Carroll for a number of years. He also enjoyed teaching as an adjunct professor at Baylor Law School.
Paul Sanderford was preceded in death by his father, R.D. Sanderford, and brother, Sandy Sanderford.
He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Kelly Sanderford; his mother, June Sanderford; two sons Tanner Sanderford and Ty Sanderford; one daughter Emlee Sanderford; one brother Jamie Sanderford and wife Anne; two sisters Melanie Johnson and husband Mark, and Scottie Hundahl and husband John and many nieces and nephews. Paul was a man who believed deeply in the power of community and is also leaving behind many beloved friends who have become family through the years.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hope Pregnancy Center and The Ronald McDonald House, Temple, TX.
