Ofelio Martinez Gamboa of Belton Texas passed away on Tuesday, August 22nd, 2023, at the age of 78 at Scott and White Hospital, Temple Texas.

Visitation will start at 5pm on Monday, August 28th, 2023, followed by his Rosary at 6pm to be held at Dossman Funeral Home.

Funeral Mass will be at 10am on Tuesday, August 29th, 2023, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Belton Texas with burial to follow at North Belton Cemetery.

Ofelio was born on June 10th, 1945, in Tapona Morena, Mier y Noriega, Nuevo Leon, Mexico to Santos Martinez and Domitila Gamboa.

Ofelio was a kindhearted man of God.  He was always willing to help others and not expect anything in return.  He was one of the first to fix the church in his hometown.  He would bring food, clothing and sweets for the children of his hometown, Tapona Morena.

Everything he did was from the heart because he was pure goodness & pure love.  His hobbies were preaching the Word of God, dancing, spending time with his family, especially his great grandchildren.

For his people and anyone that knew him, he was an angel.  Everyone that knew him has their own testimony on how good hearted he was.  He loved his children, grandchildren, siblings, great grandchildren, his nieces, nephews, cousins and the love of his life.  He loved everyone and encouraged everyone to love and respect thy neighbor, like it's written in the Bible.  He was one of a kind.  He will be missed.

Ofelio is survived by his wife Lorenza Villanueva, his children Marisela & Ciro Molina, Oralia & Marcelo Estrada, Fidencio & Juana Martinez, Noe & Nancy Martinez, Elidia & Bayron Echeverria and Rene Martinez.  His grandchildren, Yobany Molina, Marlen Molina, Sonia Janelly Salinas, Marcelo Estrada Jr. Jacqueline Moreno, Ivan Molina, Nayeli Melendez, Noe Jr. Martinez, Alexandra Estrada, Jose Martinez, Rubi Martinez, Lionel Martinez, Noelia Martinez, Nery Martinez, Christian Estrada, Eleanor Martinez, Julian Martinez and William Martinez. Brothers and Sisters, Acension Norberto, Juan, Epifanio, Juan, Severa, Lidia, Francisca Martinez Gamboa.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Luis Martinez Gamboa, sister Esterberta Martinez Gamboa, and Grandson Fernando Martinez.
