Nita Slocombe

A visitation for Alma Juanita "Nita" Slocombe 83, of Moffat, will be held Wednesday, April 1, 2020, at First Baptist Church Moffat from 12 Noon until 3 PM.   A memorial service is planned for a later date.

Mrs. Slocombe died Saturday, March 28, 2020 at her home.

Mrs. Slocombe was born in Madisonville,  June 21, 1936, the daughter of Joseph Columbus Morgan and Alma Annie (McGinty) Morgan.  She married Donald Keith Slocombe July 23, 1955 in Madisonville.  They lived all over the world as they followed his military career.   She was a member of the Heidelberg Officers Wives Club.

She was a real estate agent.  She established Sunburst Realty in Austin in the 1980's.  In 1994 she moved to Central Texas where she continued Sunburst Realty in the Temple area.  She was a member of the Austin Board of Realtors, as well as the Temple Board of Realtors.   She retired in 2005.

Mrs. Slocombe was a member of First Baptist Church Moffat.

Mrs. Slocombe was preceded in death by her husband Dennis Wooton and one son, Donald Bruce Slocombe; also her parents, and a brother Lummie Doyle Morgan.

Survivors include her husband Donald Keith Slocombe of Moffat; two sons Douglas M. Slocombe of Cedar Creek and David R. Slocombe of Leander and daughter Leana McEachern of Frisco; 5 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
