Minerva Cano, age 73, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2022, in Temple, Texas. She was born February 25, 1949, in Robstown, Texas, to parents, Antonio Ramirez and Josefina Ybarra.
She is preceded in death by seven of her siblings. She is survived by a sister, Gloria McDonald, and brother, Frank Ramirez; three children: Jerry Cano (Anne), Eddie Cano, Lisa Boothby (Ian). She is survived by 8 grandchildren, Brandon Cano, Eddie Cano Jr, Kristian Vela, Manda Boothby, Bekah Bray, James Boothby, Jonathon Boothby & Joseph Boothby, numerous great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Minerva was born and raised in Robstown. As a single mom, she raised three children who were the family’s first generation of college graduates. Minerva always enjoyed spending time with her family and was strong-willed and uncompromisingly independent. With her family, she enjoyed going camping, shopping at yard sales and traveling around the country with her many beloved family members for whom the trip just wouldn’t be the same without her. When she was not home, you could find her as one of the three amigas at Walmart or bargain hunting at Goodwill with her sister Gloria, and her partner in crime, her brother Frank. Minerva will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will be at 11AM at Dossman Funeral Home, 2525 North Main in Belton, on Wednesday, June 22 nd with Memorial Service to follow at Noon, officiated by Pastor David Newsome.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to all the nurses and caregivers at Baylor Scott and White who cared for her.
