Mary J Watson, age 71, of Belton, TX went to be with her Lord on Sunday, March 31 st , 2019. She passed peacefully in her home in Belton. She was born December 14 th , 1947 to James and Mary (Elizabeth) Minghini of Temple, TX. She was a graduate of Belton High School in the class of 1965. She married Donald Watson on November 16 th , 1974 and was married for 25 years. She worked as a certified nursing assistant, co-owned Short Stop Foodstores, and worked at Central Land Title. Mary’s special interests and hobbies included raising a family and caring for God’s creation through planting trees and gardening, arts and crafts, and traveling abroad. In her early adulthood she lived in New York and attended Woodstock.

Funeral services for Mrs. Watson will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton with Rev. Delton Weiser officiating. Burial will follow at Eddy Cemetery in Eddy, Texas.

Mary is survived by her son Erik Watson and his wife Brenda of Pflugerville, daughter Rachel Watson of Austin, sister Estellene Ferrel and her husband Rusty of Temple, brother Ivey Minghini, and grandchildren Matthew, Gabe, and Stone as well as nephews David and Rex. Mary was preceded in death by her parents James and Mary Minghini. Mary will be remembered as a devout Lutheran and a loving and caring mother, sister, nana, aunt and beloved friend.
