Let me tell you a story about MaryAnn. First, the required stuff. MaryAnn was born in ‘47 and went to be with the love of her life on January 31, 2023.
MaryAnn, her sisters, Nancy and Jeanie, and her best friend, Trudie, grew up in Beaumont where MaryAnn graduated high school in 1965. She met Dennis, and the two officially began their life long love affair in June of 1967. MaryAnn then graduated from TWU in 1969 with a bachelor of science.
MaryAnn wore many hats - most at the same time. She was an artist, a grant writer, a plant/tree/flower/herb nursery owner, a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, an aunt, a cousin, a grandmother, and even a great-grandmother. She’d argue all grandmothers are great and she’d be right.
MaryAnn’s passions include her family, especially her six granddaughters, women in business, her gardening, and British crime shows. MaryAnn bled blue and wasn’t afraid to tell you about it. MaryAnn raved about her neighbors and how quickly they became family.
MaryAnn and Dennis were special. They had the kind of love only found in movies. They pursued each other through his flight school, his two Vietnam tours, multiple career changes, dozens of moves and two kids. They overcame many obstacles together - but always together. They adored each other in the way that made you jealous of what they had.
MaryAnn was preceded in passing by her mother, Dorothy, her father, U. Vesta , and her person, Denny. She is survived by: her sister Nancy and husband Wayne, niece Courtney and David, their children Emma and Brandon; her son Derek and his girlfriend Katie; her daughter Diedhre and her husband Chuck; her daughter Kerry; her beloved six granddaughters Maegan, Mady, Molly, Isabel, Corinne, and Alysse; Maegan’s husband Jacobe, Mady’s husband Jessie; and last, but hardly least, her great grandson Kendel. She preached family first and walked the talk.
You will always be loved, MaryAnn.
Mary Ann always wore denim to work in the yard.
In Memory of MaryAnn, the family requests for everyone to wear denim.
