At the age of 96, Mary Jane (Banks) Sacco died January 13, 2019 at her home in
Belton, Texas.
Visitation with the family will be Saturday January 26 at 11:30 am at the Belton
Church of Christ followed by a private memorial service at 2pm.
Graveside services for Mary Jane will be held at a later date in Sandyville, Ohio
at Greenlawn Cemetery.
Mary Jane was born on May 26, 1922 in Dover, Ohio to Matthew and Bessie
Jane (Roberts) Banks. She attended a two room schoolhouse in Somerdale and
graduated from Dover High School in 1940.
She graduated from beauty college during WWII. Mary Jane married her high
school sweetheart, Benny Sacco on September 7, 1943.
Mary Jane bought a beauty shop in Dover and operated it until they moved to
Mogadore, Ohio. She then devoted her time and talents to raising her children,
participation and leadership in United Methodist Women groups, award winning
member of the Garden Club, Cub Scout leader, Sunday school teacher, and an
ability to make a home beautiful as a helpmate to her husband. Mary Jane and
Ben also lived in Canton, Pennsylvania and moved to Salem, Ohio in 1966.
Mary Jane moved to Belton, Texas in 1997.
Mary Jane was preceded in death by her husband Benny Sacco; sisters Marjorie
(Banks) Ehlers, Flora Lee (Banks) Welsh, Bessie Ann (Banks) Tate; and her
parents.
She is survived by her children - Jeffery Sacco of Belton, Texas, Stephen and
Julie (Campf) Sacco of Salem, Ohio; and Richard and Sheila (Sacco) Weaver of
Belton, Texas. She is also survived by six grandchildren and ten greatgrandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Belton Church of Christ Young Families or to the Alchemy Acres Animal Sanctuary.
Arrangements are being handled by Dossman Funeral Home.
