Marjorie Ann Overgoner

Marjorie Ann Overgoner, 75, of Belton, passed away peacefully at Baylor Scott and White Hospital in Temple, Texas on February 26, 2024. Visitation will on Tuesday, March 5, from 6-8. Services will be on Wednesday, March 6, at 11:30. Both will take place at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton Texas.

Marjorie Ann was born on July 21, 1948 to James Luther and Marjorie Elizabeth (Kornegay) Lumpkins in Bloomington, Texas.

Marjorie grew up in Bloomington with her siblings and was a proud member of the Bloomington High School Class of 1966. While in high school, she was active in FHA and choir. After graduation she attended Victoria College. After some College, she enjoyed a career as an Office Administrator/Manager.

She met the Love of her Life Milton at a Youth Group function hosted by Central Church of Christ in Victoria, Texas. She and Milton were married on July 16, 1971 in Bloomington, Texas. They started their life together in Victoria and moved around the State meeting and making new friends along the way.

Their marriage gave life to son Brian Scott and daughter Tawnya Lynette.

The family were members of Bloomington Church of Christ.

Marjorie and Milton moved to Belton, Texas in 2010 following their beloved Grandchildren. They found a new Church Home and were faithful members of the Belton Church of Christ Family. Marjorie was a talented seamstress and loved sewing clothing for premature babies with Soft Touch group and sewing Pig Neck Pillows which were given to elderly people in the hospital. She also enjoyed her Life Group and Bible Classes. On her own time, she made lap pad blankets to take to nursing home residents. She made quilts and blankets for family members to enjoy. She also loved making jewelry and decorative wreaths. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and loved ones. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her.

She was preceded in death by her Loving husband Milton Roy Overgoner. Brother Jimmy Lumpkins and Sister Jannette Lumpkins. Parents James Luther and Marjorie Elizabeth Lumpkins.

She is survived by son Brian Overgoner and wife Ricka MaRay (Sides), parents of granddaughter Madeline Ella. Daughter Tawnya Lynette, mother of grandchildren Brooke Alyse and Blake Aaron and fiancé Arthur Luna. Four brothers Gary Lumpkins and wife Sharon, Kenneth Lumpkins and wife Melanie, Tommy Lumpkins and wife Nancy, Douglas Lumpkins and wife Suzanne and Sister Lynda (Parsons) Lumpkins and husband Larry. As well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews whom she loved so much.

Burial is at 2:00 pm, at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery 11463 TX-195, Killeen, TX on March 6. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Belton Church of Christ, specifically the “Soft Touch” sewing group.
