Margie Lee (McCracken) Cecchine of New Braunfels and formerly of Belton passed away at age 79 on July 26, 2021 in New Braunfels, Texas.

Graveside services for Margie will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Rest Haven Cemetery in Belton with Pastor James Richard Hammonds officiating.

Margie was born on July 4, 1942 in Belton, Texas to Ella (Wood) McCracken and James Lee McCracken. Margie was raised in Belton, Texas where she met the love of her life, James (Chick) Cecchine while he was stationed at Fort Hood. They were married on November 1, 1958 in Belton. They spent a wonderful 62 years together. They had 5 children and traveled all over the world together. They retired in 1976 from a lifelong military career. Margie then went to work at Belton ISD as a cafeteria manager. Her passion was feeding kids. She truly loved all the students she served and all the people she worked with. She retired after 20 years of service. After retirement, camping was her passion. There was nothing more relaxing to her than a week at the lake. Margie loved her family and left a mark in their lives. She will be forever missed.

Margie was preceded in death by her parents; son James Edward; daughter Robin Lynn, and brother Boaby McCracken. She is survived by her husband James Dale Cecchine Sr. (Chick) of New Braunfels Texas; daughter Debbie Ocheltree and husband Don of New Braunfels, Texas; son James Dale Cecchine, Jr. and Donna of Belton Texas, and son Edward Lee Cecchine of Belton, Texas. Also surviving Margie are ten grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson. She is also survived by two brothers; Freddie McCracken of Belton, Texas, and Eddie and wife Rennie of Belton, Texas, as well as many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 710 N. 64th St., Waco, Texas 76710.

Dossman Funeral Home in Belton is in charge of the arrangements.
