Lynne Sims

Funeral services for Lynne Sims, 74, of Killeen, will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will be at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.

Mrs. Sims died Saturday, January 11, 2020 in a Harker Heights Hospital.

Mrs. Sims was born November 23, 1945 in Fort Knox, Kentucky, the daughter of William Gilbert and Thelma (Cox) Gilbert.  She married James Sims August 4, 1972 in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. They made their home in Killeen in May of 1983.  She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Sims was preceded in death by two great grandchildren, two brothers and one sister.

Survivors include her husband James Sims of Killeen, three sons Dennis Sims of Belton, James Sims Jr of Tennessee and Stephen Sims of Palestine, Texas; one daughter Vicky Liakos of Canada; two brothers David Gilbert of Louisville, Kentucky and Billy Gilbert of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; two sisters Patsy Sharkey of Elizabethtown, Kentucky and Barbara Skees of Brandenberg, Kentucky; seven grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

The family will receive friends for visitation 6-8 PM Monday, January 13, 2020 at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel.
