L.L. Lindsey

June 2, 1940 — May 22, 2021

Lyndell “Len” Levi Lindsey passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2021 in Temple. His services will be held at Live Oak Cemetery near Youngsport, on Tuesday, June 1 st at 2:00 pm.  Lyndell was the son of Dock Wilson Lindsey and Nina Levi Underwood. He was born June 2, 1940 in Florence, Texas.

In 1963, Lyndell enlisted in the US Army. He was assigned to the 62 nd Engineer Battalion in Vietnam where he served as a Specialist E5, building the Phan Rang Air base.  Nearly three years later, he returned home in October of 1966 and began a career in the oil field as a tool pusher.

Lyndell met and courted Catherine Ann Brieden of Devine, Texas in 1967. They soon married in Alice, Texas on February 20, 1968. The couple spent the early part of their marriage in Sandia, Texas until they moved back to Salado in June 1989 where they raised their three children. Len and Cathy were married for 52 years when Cathy went to be with our Lord and Savior on August 6, 2020.

Lyndell is survived by their three children: Darrell Wayne Lindsey, Katherine Lynn Perkins, Alfred Lane Lindsey, three grandchildren, Karliegh Rose Perkins, Kyle Zackery Perkins, Kinzy Danielle Perkins, and one great grandchild, Kyra Rose Serbousek.

Dossman Funeral Home in Belton is in charge of the arrangements.
