Funeral services for Lillie Lee Tamplen, will be held at 10 AM, Friday, January 13, 2023 at the Dossman Funeral Home in Belton with Rev. Warren Rainwater. Entombment will be at Temple Garden of Memories.

​​ The family will receive friends for visitation 5-8 PM Thursday, January 12 at the funeral home.

​​ After a brief illness, Lillie entered her heavenly home on January 8, at the age of 85.

​​ Lillie was born on January 26, 1937 in Ashtola, Texas, the youngest child of Willis Goble and Mary Josephine (Bennett) Barker.  She met Clyde Tamplen after a high school football game in Clarendon, Texas. They were married on January 21, 1955 in Portales, NM.

​​ Besides being a wife for over 67 years, she was Mom to 5 sons.  She was a very good cook.  She was also talented with several hobbies and crafts - sewing, crocheting, arranging flowers and painting.  She worked outside of the home as a teacher's assistant in several different school districts.

​​ She was preceded in death by her husband ​, ​ Clyde, her parents ​, Willis and Mary; ​ sisters - Doyce Myrne and Evalyn and brother Alvyn; her oldest son, Randy; a daughter-in-law, Debbie; and a granddaughter, Dani.

​​ She is survived by four sons - Micheal, Donnie (Carolyn), Darrell (Brandi) and J (Tina); Daughter-in-Law, Sharron; 13 Grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
