Karen Leah (Yerby) Leach

Karen Leah (Yerby) Leach, 83, of Belton passed away on Monday, August 12, 2019 at Baylor-Scott and White Hospital in Temple.

Graveside services for Mrs. Leach will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at 10:00 AM at North Belton Cemetery in Belton with Rev. Mike Baggerly officiating.

Karen was born on September 3, 1935 in St. Petersburg, Florida to Prentice and Margit (Jensen) Yerby. Mrs. Leach worked as a Registered Nurse during the 60's. She married Thornton "Buddy" Leach on June 12, 1971 in Gatesville and they were married for 46 years before he passed away in 2017. They moved to Belton in 1972 where they owned several businesses over the years such as car lots, a BBQ restaurant, and a day care. Karen was a longtime member of the Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ in Belton.

Mrs. Leach was preceded in death by her husband Buddy and a daughter Kerri Puckett. She is survived by her sons James Elliott of Arkansas, Clifton Elliott of Houston, and step-son James Leach and his wife Belinda of Allen, Texas, 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, 15 N 2nd Street, Temple, Texas 76501.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5:30-7:30 PM at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton.
