Julia A. Mcwhirt

Julia Ann (Brown) McWhirt, 81, of Killeen passed away on Sunday, August 22, 2021 at Darnall Army Medical Center in Killeen.

A funeral service for Julia will be held on Monday, August 30, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton with Rev. Sam Callaway officiating. Burial will follow at Killeen Memorial Park in Killeen.

Julia was born on September 13, 1939 in Columbus (Franklin County) , Ohio to Janice B. (Brown) Hite. She graduated from Sacred Heart Parochial School in Columbus, Ohio. After graduating from high school, she worked various jobs until she met and married her husband Eldrige McWhirt. After marriage she became a homemaker and raised their two daughters, Christine and Johana. Julia was very active in a local Girl Scout troop from 1979 to 1991, and enjoyed doing crafts and collecting and selling Longaberger baskets.

Mrs. McWhirt was preceded in death by her husband in 2015. She is survived by daughters Christine Trager of Killeen and Johana Villanueva of El Paso; 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; and one sister Mary Ellen Motley of Reynoldsburg, Ohio.

A visitation will be held on Sunday evening from 4-6 PM at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton.
