Joseph Phil Mcclary

July 29, 1941 — January 14, 2021

Joseph McClary, age 79, of Morgan’s Point Resort went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 14, 2021.

Joe was born July 29, 1941 in Portsmouth, Virginia, the son of Eugene William McClary and Ruth Madaline (Brower) McClary. He graduated High School in Yale, Oklahoma in 1959, where he met and married his wife Dollie Dot “Dottie” Harris on August 19, 1961. Where they enjoyed almost 60 years together. Joe was a people person who never met a stranger.  He also loved spending time with his family.   He loved the Lord and loved his church. He served as a music minister for many years.  They moved to West Texas in 1973 where they lived in Kermit and Odessa.  Joe spent his career helping people select the right product and services.  He opened and ran several businesses in Kermit.  In 1991 they moved to Odessa where he worked for B-Line Filter & Supply.  He sold welding supplies and tools.  Following retirement they moved to Morgan’s Point Resort.

Joe McClary was a longtime member of the Lion's Club in Kermit as well as Odessa.  He was a member of Gideons International as well.   He was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church in Belton.

Those left to cherish his memories include his wife Dollie "Dottie" McClary of Morgan's Point Resort; two sons Bronson McClary and wife Monica of Melbourne, Florida and Bryan McClary and wife Vickie of Conroe; one daughter Dottie Jo McClary of Dallas; three brothers Larry McClary of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Ronnie Mitchell and wife Kay of Chickasha, Oklahoma and Jack Mitchell of Tulsa, Oklahoma, one sister Lora Jean Doll of Yale, Oklahoma; six grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Sunday at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Graveside services will be held Monday at Bellwood Memorial Park at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Bill Campbell officiating.
