Jerry Alexander Newell

The family will receive friends for visitation Sunday afternoon from 3- 5 PM at  Dossman Funeral Home in Belton.

Mr. Newell died Monday in a Temple hospital.

Mr. Newell was born March 7, 1943, in Houlka, Mississippi, the son of Rubel and Mary Lois (Norman) Newell.   He married Maria Dolores Perreras October 23, 1962, in the Philippines.   He retired from the United States Army, but also served in the United States Air Force.  He was an AirBorne  Ranger and instructor.

Survivors in one son Mark Newell and wife Laura; three daughters Shirley N. Warren and husband Chuck, Merly Newell, and Linda Maria Osowski and husband Jack Sias; 13 grandchildren, Rodrick Crawford, Maria Novacek, Theron Ray Seymore, Zachary Osowski, Ashley Rap, Raven Osowski, Alysson Dixon, Candace Newell, Rubel Jacob Newell, Dylen Bradley, Luke Bradley, Misty Bradley and Caroline Pearce; nine great-grandchildren, Asher Bradley, Keegan Bradley, Jaymes Bradley Dixon, Jordana Dixon, Drake Viola, Quentin Crawford, Vandal Novacek, Mykayla Novacek and Charlie Rose Rap.
