Service for Jean Halbrook, 89, of Temple will be 1 pm Saturday, January 9, 2021, at Foundation Methodist Church in Belton, with Gary White, Jr. officiating.
Jean was born in Mineola, Texas on July 25, 1931, to Neely Harold and Oleta (Creech) Barnett. She married Dave Halbrook in Mineola, Texas in May of 1951, He preceded her in death in 2009. Though she and her husband moved many times, Mineola was always home in her mind. She liked to sew, crochet, travel, and watch sports and westerns. Early in life she was an avid bowler and she made WONDERFUL pies.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 58 years, Dave Halbrook; three brothers, Buddy, Joe and Kenneth Barnett, and a sister, Nell Skinner.
She is survived by two sons, Wayne Halbrook and wife Nancy and Larry Halbrook and wife Peggy; two brothers, Ray, and Preston Barnett; a sister, Charlotte Haire; one granddaughter, Courtney Holley and husband David; two great-grandchildren, Emma and Brandon Holley and, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins and many nieces and nephews
