A dedicated career paramedic, Jamie served with distinction at Williamson County EMS for over 19 years as a lieutenant/paramedic, where during his time there, he supervised three ambulances and 11 employees. His 19-year career in Emergency Medical Services, which began at San Marcos EMS, was marked by his exceptional skill, leadership, and unwavering commitment to helping others in their moments of greatest need. He saved countless lives.
Jamie was renowned for his vibrant personality, infectious humor (often expressed through his collection of hilarious and inappropriate t-shirts and tattoos), and his ability to light up any room. His genuine nature and adventurous spirit drew people to him, building lifelong friendships that became an extension of his family. An Eagle Scout and lifelong adventurer, he found joy in hunting expeditions and cheering on his beloved Dallas Cowboys and Boston Red Sox.
Though he had no biological children, Jamie was a remarkable father figure to his stepchildren, nieces, nephews, and the children of friends, treating each one as his own. His love for animals was evident in the devoted care he showed to his dogs and cat. Jamie was known for his non-judgmental nature and reliability – always showing up for those who needed him, no matter the circumstance.
Jamie was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 11 years, Lisa Diane Dalton; his mother, Sandra Howard; father, Charles Dalton; step-father, Hank Howard; and nephews, Michael Gross and Clayton Dalton.
He is survived by his step-mother, Rosie Dalton; brother, Gary Dalton (Sandy); sister, Terri Dalton Miller (Al); step-children, Stefan Schmid (April Welshon), Margie Tipton (Nathan), Aubrey Tipton(Jared), and Preston Tipton (Caitlin); nieces, Kristen Gross (Rachel Rutter) and Shelby Adams (Josh); granddaughters, Sundance and Maxine; and great-nieces, Elle Rutter and Blaire Adams – all of whom he loved deeply and who will carry his memory in their hearts. He also leaves behind countless friends who became family throughout his lifetime, each holding special memories of his friendship, generosity, and larger-than-life personality.
