James Douglas Arthaud

CLICK HERE TO VIEW SERVICE James Douglas Arthaud, 66, of Elm Mott, TX, departed this life for his eternal home on July 9, 2023, at Baylor Scott and White - Hillcrest in Waco, TX. He was born to Corporal Robert and Phyllis Arthaud on October 15, 1956, in Joliet, Illinois. James joined the army in October of 1974 and served as a recovery specialist for the 58th Infantry Division. He was married to Kayla Deann Dunn on August 19, 1989. The pair owned two successful businesses in Waco, TX. Their trucking company, Kayla’s Texas Moves Inc., was established in 1997 and incorporated in May of 2000. Their second business, J&K Truck Service was established in 2007. He is preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis Arthaud and his brother, Michael Arthaud. James is survived by his wife, Kayla Arthaud; his son, Wesley Arthaud; and his daughters, Miranda Carpenter, Miriah Arthaud, and Haidyn Arthaud. He leaves behind seven grandchildren, one of whom he was unable to meet. Also, his father, Corporal Robert Arthaud; his brother, Retired Staff Sergeant Charles Arthaud; and his sister, Sandra Arthaud. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm, Thursday July 13th, 2023, at Dossman Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 2pm on Friday, July 14th, 2023, at Dossman Funeral. Burial to follow at Live Oak Cemetery, Youngsport, TX
