J. D. Hicks

Graveside services for J. D. Hicks, 91, of Belton, will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, March 30, 2023, at the Moody Cemetery with Minister H. K. Ballard officiating.

The family will receive friends for visitation Wednesday, March 29, 2023, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel.

Mr. Hicks died Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at his home in Belton.

Mr. Hicks was born, December 23, 1931, in Pendleton the son of Ray Bradley Hicks and Eva Snada (Green) Hicks.   He married Wanda Sligh August 15, 1951.  He served in the United States Air Force.  He worked for many years Civil Service at Ft. Hood as an aircraft inspector.

He was preceded in death by his wife and a son,  Jerry Don Hicks.

Survivors include son, Jimmy Hicks of Belton; daughter LaQuita Whitt and husband Bill of Belton; brother Billy Hicks of Morgans Point Resort; three grandchildren, Jessica Collins and husband Craig, John Hicks and wife Michele and Jason Hicks and wife Diana and, five great grandchildren, Tyler, Jaedyn, Kaeley, Addison, and Brandon.

Memorials may be made to The Heart Association or Alzheimer's Association.
