Herman Elbert Forrest, Jr. of Temple passed away on Thursday,May 13, 2021 at his home in Temple.

Graveside services for Mr. Forrest will be held on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at 10:30 AM at Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple. A visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Monday, May 17, 2021 at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton.

Herman was born in Texarkana to Herman Sr. and Ada Pauline Forrest. After high school, he did some university courses, yet having experimented with electricity since an early age plus earning money at an early age, later on designed computers before commercial ones. He worked as a radio system designer, meanwhile having designed for his own home specialized electronics and could repair anything. He worked for many years as an sales executive for Motorola before he retired. Mr. Forrest aided many people in their understanding and use of computers after retirement.

Survivors include his 4 children: Deborah E. Hernandez, Richard M., John, & William Forrest, and grandchildren Richard & Robert Forrest, Deborah Smith, Manuel & Joseph Hernandez, Jammie McCartney, Margaret Schneider, Jesse Forrest and Terea Covington. Also surviving are 16 great grandchildren.

Dossman Funeral Home in Belton is in charge of the arrangements.
