Funeral services for Herman Edward "Eddie" Greenfield, 76, of Morgan's Point Resort, will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at Dossman Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Moffat Cemetery.

Eddie died Monday, June 17, 2024 at his home.

Eddie was born March 25, 1948 in Big Spring, Texas.  He is the son of Ben Greenfield and Freda York Greenfield.

He attended high school in Seminole, Texas where he was well known as an outstanding quarterback for the football team.  He received several scholarship offers, however, he chose to stay in the area to help his Mother.  He attended West Texas State University earning his Bachelor's Degree there, and then moved to San Antonio to attend Our Lady of the Lake University.  He received his Master's Degree in Psychiatric Social Work and began his career in the mental health field.

Eddie married Lea Michele Martin on September 23, 1983 in Copperas Cove, Texas.  He began his career working as a youth counselor and program writer at MHMR.  This job led to administration level positions and ultimately to Superintendent for Waco Center for Youth.  He retired there in 2013, and then continued to work as consultant and counselor until December 2019.

Eddie was a longtime member of the Belton Church of Christ.  He was an active member in the Caballo De Hierro Chapter of the motorcycle club Reguladores LE MC.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Michele Greenfield: daughter Reagan Pendergraft and husband Trey, son Powers Greenfield and wife Sara, daughter Karlina Popwell and husband Rich, and son Rick Greenfield and Erin; six grandchildren, Presley, Lyla, Cooper Edward, Nathan, Caleb, and Harmony.

Eddie enjoyed life in the outdoors:  riding his motorcycle, boating on Lake Belton and long walks by the lake.

He loved people and always saw the best in them.  He was a joyous father and grandfather.

He will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched.
