Hellen (Wirt) Sims

Hellen (Wirt) Sims, 94, of Belton, formerly of Waurika, Oklahoma, died Sunday, October 20, 2019 in a Belton nursing home.

A funeral service for Hellen will be held on Friday, October 25, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church in Waurika, Oklahoma. Burial will be in Waurika Cemetery.

Mrs. Sims was born November 5, 1924 in Waurika to Roy and Bonnie (Anthony) Wirt, their only child.  She was a homemaker and a rancher.  She lived in Belton for the last 10 years, moving from Waurika.    She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Waurika and Belton.

Mrs. Sims was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson, Thomas Sims.

Survivors include two sons Jack Sims and wife Rosemary of Belton and Royce Sims and companion Florinda Kangeter of Fayetteville, North Carolina.  Also survived by one grandson Bryce Sims and wife Becky of Houston and Diane Sims, the mother of her two great grandsons, Jackson and Kyle all of Houston.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church of Belton (Building Fund) or First United Methodist Church of Waurika, Oklahoma (General Fund).

Dossman Funeral Home in Belton is in charge of local arrangements. Dudley Funeral Homes of Waurika is in charge of Oklahoma arrangements.
