Helen Trevino

Helen (Vargas) Trevino, 91, of Belton passed away on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at a Belton Nursing Home.

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Christ The King Catholic Church in Belton with Father Sang Quan officiating. Burial will follow at North Belton Cemetery in Belton.

Helen was born on July 3, 1929 in Belton, Texas to Paul and Guadalupe (Araiza) Vargas. She was raised in Belton and attended schools there. Mrs. Trevino married Gabriel Trevino on August 22, 1944 in Belton and they were married for 45 years before he passed away in 1989. She worked for many years for the Belton ISD and was a founding member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Belton.

Mrs. Trevino was preceded in death by her husband Gabriel, daughter Sarah Canales, and granddaughter Joanna Leija. She is survived by daughters Lupe Veracruz, Orfilinda Leija, and son Louis Trevino and wife Susan Guzman-Trevino of Belton. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren.

A visitation for Mrs. Trevino will be held on Friday, February 5, 2021 at Dossman Funeral Home from 5-7 PM with a rosary beginning at 7:00 PM officiated by Deacon Armando.
