Funeral services for Ginger Kay (Roberts) Layne, 69, of Belton, will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, June 4, 2021, at the Dossman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charlie Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple.

The family will receive friends for visitation from 6-8 PM Thursday evening at the funeral home.

Mrs. Layne died Monday, May 31, 2021 in a Waco Hospice. Mrs. Layne was born February 15, 1952, in Belton, the daughter of Harry Vohs Roberts and Glenda Belle (Southerland) Roberts. She was a graduate of Richard King High School in Corpus Christi. She married Joseph A. Layne June 18, 1971. She worked 28 years for the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, mostly in the Music Department, retiring in 2012. She was Baptist.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph "Joe" Layne; parents, Harry and Glenda Roberts and step mother Glenna Roberts.

Survivors include one son, Robby Layne and wife Amanda of Moody; one daughter Glenda Layne of Belton; one sister Vickie Lindsey and husband Corry of Midlothian; one brother Marty Roberts and wife Laurel of Temple; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Garcia and husband Marty, Rebecca Layne, and Halee Jo Layne all of Moody; five great grandchildren Gabriella Garcia and McKenzie Garcia both of Belton and Zoey Randolph, Addison Randolph and Carter Randolph all of Moody. Memorials may be made to UMHB Music Department.
