Gilbert Delbrey, age 75, died Monday, January 18, 2021 at Baylor-Scott and White in Temple after a long battle with health conditions contributed from his services in the military.
Gilbert will be buried with military honors on Wednesday, January 27, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the Central Texas State Veteran's Cemetery in Killeen.
Mr. Delbrey is survived by a wife, Misuk Delbrey, four children: Carlos Delbrey, Eric Delbrey, Michelle Rhoades and Christine Simmons. He also leaves behind Eight Grandchildren: Lyle Apt, Bobby Simmons, Amber Perilloux, Ivy Rhoades, Lexi Delbrey, Ryley Delbrey, Nicholas Delbrey and Lillian Delbrey. Gilbert was a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he earned several medals, including the Silver Star, Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct medal, 8th Award, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 4 bronze stars. Republic of Vietnam Campaign Ribbon with device (1960), and many more. Gilbert Served in the military for 18 years and continued through as a Corrections Officer until he retired in 2003 due to heart conditions caused by injuries during his military service.
He grew up in New York and Puerto Rico, He's one of 4 siblings; brother Alfred Delbrey, brother Edward Perez, and sister Marie Estelle. He's the Son of Miguel Delbrey and Esther Perez.
