Geraldine “Jeri” Opal Harris died peacefully on Friday, May 24, 2024, at the end of a lovely life.  She was 94 years old.

To commemorate and celebrate her life, a memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Sunday, June 2, 2024, at Dossman Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 N Main St, Belton, TX 76513, followed by a reception at 12:30 .

Jeri was born April 11, 1930, in Big Beaver, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania and was a graduate of New Castle High School.  She married Don R. Harris, October 15, 1948 in New Castle, Pennsylvania, and they were married for 49 happy years.  From Pennsylvania they moved to Florida before moving to San Antonio in 1969, where they lived for 28 years.  She and Don ultimately moved to Morgan's Point Resort in 1997.

She was a long-time member in the United Methodist Church, attending First United Methodist Church in Belton. She enjoyed line dancing, window shopping, yoga and photography.  Most importantly she loved her faith and family.  She was known as the “welcoming” mother and grandmother. Whenever anyone in the family brought home friends or soon to be spouses, Jeri was inviting and warm to all, having the gift of putting each at ease. She was also an excellent cook.

Jeri was preceded in death by her husband, Don; her son-in-law, Bill Morgan; and her siblings, Johnny and Doris.

She is survived by her four daughters, Cathy Harris Morgan, Donna Harris Hartman and husband Larry, Dorothy Harris Allyn and husband Mark and Cindy Harris Dellenback and husband Steve; 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.
