Harold Gene Morgan, 78, of Belton passed away at Baylor Scott and White Hospital on December 10, 2021.
He was born in Belton, Texas on June 15, 1943 to James Floyd Morgan and Ruby Lucille Ray.
Gene graduated from Belton high school in 1961. He traveled around with different bands but always found his way back home to Belton. He married the love of his life, Frances Veronica Brock (Ronnie) on December 17, 1992 in Belton, Texas.
Gene was a loving father, a God-fearing man, a central Texas country music legend, and a star football player. You never saw him without his infectious smile or a twinkle in his eye. He was always ready for a good time. He also had a kind and loving heart; he was always willing to give the shirt off his back to anyone who may need it. He was truly loved by everyone who knew him and will be greatly missed.
Gene is preceded in death by his father; mother; brother, Kenneth Morgan; sister, Maureen Moon; and sister, Louann Hitt.
He is survived by his wife; his son, Steven Morgan of Belton; step son, Donald Baggerly of Montgomery; step daughter, Colleen Dittmer of Belton; 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services for Gene will be: visitation from 5:30-7:30pm, Monday, December 13, 2021, at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton; a celebration of life, Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at 10:00am at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton with the burial following at North Belton cemetery.
