Garry Michael Bartek was born July 31st, 1968, in Temple Texas to Edward Richard and Lanita Faye Hayes Bartek.
Garry received his Bachelor's degree from UMHB. and a Master's degree in Education from Tarleton State University.
Garry’s love was teaching, he taught junior high school and high school math for 27 years until he retired, and he could not stay away from teaching, so he went back to teaching special needs elementary children. He was lucky because he was able to combine his favorite hobby with teaching the kids. He bred and raised show rabbits, so while he was doing his thing, he taught the kids to do it as well. He was also a member of the Texas Rabbit Breeders association. He did all that and still found time to import roses from all over the world and grow them. Garry had an amazing green thumb when it came to roses. Garry also had a natural talent for making people laugh, even when they didn’t want to.
Garry is survived by his parents Edward and Lanita, his sister Deandra Bowling, a special nephew Bryce Bowling and Bryce’s fiancé Kate Gordon.
