Frances Dorareasa Johnson

Frances Dorareasa (Statham) Johnson, 82, of Killeen and formerly of Moody passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at a Harker Heights Nursing Facility.

A memorial service for Frances will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 1:00 PM at the Liberty Hill Baptist Church in Moody with Mark Lambert officiating. Burial will be in Moody Cemetery.

Frances was born on June 17, 1937 in Quanah, Texas to Russell and Frances (Rogers) Statham. She grew up in Childress, Texas where she graduated from Childress High School. Mrs. Johnson worked as a seamstress, as a secretary for State Farm Insurance, and as an Avon salesperson. She moved to Holland, Texas before moving to Moody in 1986. Mrs. Johnson married Ervin Johnson in 1993 and he preceded her in death in 1994. Frances was a longtime member of the Liberty Hill Baptist Church in Moody.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents; a son Arthur L. Warren,III., and two brothers; Gene Statham and Ruben Statham. She is survived by her son Marion Hightower and his wife Debbie Freeman of Killeen; son Gary Warren and his wife Jennifer of Griffin, Ga.; daughter Kathy Sims-Schafer and her husband Rick of Bells, Texas; and daughter Brenda Warren Bennett and her husband Sam Torres of Round Rock; brother Lee Statham of Bastrop; 11 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.

Dossman Funeral Home in Belton is in charge of the arrangements.
