Elywn "Shorty" Garland Boales

Elywn G. Boales, 88 of Belton passed away on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2018 in Temple, Tx.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 31 ^st at 10:00am at Dossman Funeral Home Chapel in Belton, TX. Burial will follow at North Belton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7pm on Sunday, December 30 ^th at Dossman Funeral Home.

Elywn “Shorty” was born January 30, 1930 in Florence, TX to Mervin and Cloa Ewing) Boales. He attended schools in Florence and Jarrell, TX. He served in the army during the Korean War and was discharged due to an injury. He later worked for Chupik Corporation and Jeld-Wen, retiring in 1995. He married Nita Nichols on November 12, 1955 in Granger, TX and she preceded him in death in 1992. He later married Greta Poston Benson on November 28, 2003 in Gatesville, TX. He was a member of the Belton Church of Christ for many years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, first wife Nita, stepson Glen Dysinger, brothers Clyde, Buel and Jack Boales and sister Pauline Moore.

Survivors include his wife, Greta of Belton, daughter Janice Boales Pustka and her husband Jeff of Belton, stepson George M. Dysinger of Houston, stepdaughter Margaret Dysinger Campbell of Robinson, TX, grandchildren Andrew Pustka of Azle, TX, Zachary Pustka of Jarrell, TX, Nathan Dysinger and Hannah Dysinger of Waco, TX, and Mary Dysinger of Little Rock, Arkansas, three great grandchildren Maria, Simon and Benedict Pustka of Azle, TX. He is also survived by a brother Lloyd Boales of Killeen, TX and a sister Carolyn Lankford of Jarrell, TX.

Honoring Elywn as pallbearers will be Andrew Pustka, Zachary Pustka, Nathan Dysinger, Greg Lankford, Duane Biels, and Josh Griffin.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
